Stevenage
Stevenage is only 5 miles from Hitchin and is a busy commercial town
with a wide range of leisure activities. There is a multipurpose arts
and leisure centre, golf courses, swimming pool, ten pin bowling centre,
17 screen cinema and many nightclubs and restaurants.
Letchworth
Letchworth is 4 miles from Hitchin and was the world's first 'garden
city' on which many new towns have been modeled. The proposal is to create
planned towns of limited size, and surrounded by a permanent belt of agricultural
land. Letchworth has several business parks and a leisure centre.
Henlow
Henlow is 4 miles from Hitchin and is easily accessible. The RAF Henlow has
a good training base specialising in electronics. Henlow is also famous for its
health farm.
Luton
Luton is only 12 miles from Hitchin. London Luton Airport is a 15-minute
drive from the hotel. Luton town has a Museum and art gallery, Stockwood
Craft Museum and gardens and an indoor shopping centre.
Woburn
Woburn Abbey is 26 miles from Hitchin. The Abbey is set on a 3,000 acre estate with a safari park and golf club.
