Letchworth, Baldock, Royston

Letchworth Garden City

Letchworth was the first 'Garden City' - a combination of good things from town and country, where the profits from the town would be used to benefit ordinary town people.  Letchworth has several business parks and leisure centre facilities.

Baldock is where the River Ivel rises.  Many buildings in the town date from the sixteenth century.

Royston is situated where two Roman roads met, the Icknield Way and Ermine Street.  The town is named after the wayside cross of Lady Roysia.  Royston is a small market town with light industry.
